Ocutec has developed a twin manufacturing strategy. In the shorter term the company is making lenses using standard lens manufacturing technology. This will bring superior products to the market quickly at competitive prices. In the medium term Ocutec is designing a novel process capable of producing high quality lenses at a disruptively low cost.

Cast Moulding

• Ocutec has designed PEG based formulations of its patented PEG polymers that are compatible with standard industry cast moulding processes capable of producing daily disposable lenses.
• A cast moulded product has been CE Marked and is undergoing market testing.

Injection Moulding

• Additionally Ocutec is designing PEG based formulations and a novel manufacturing process involving the direct moulding of a contact lens. This employs injection moulding technology to directly thermoform lenses at an incredibly low cost.
