Formed in 2001, Ocutec Limited have delivered  notable proof of concept, investment and commercialization milestones.

The assembled team have combined to form an undoubtedly world-class scientific and management board. The company's IPR inventory features numerous granted patents to secure a strong position in the dynamic contact lens market place. Professor Neil Graham
Professor Neil Graham is a world leader in the commercial applications of hydrogels and has an enviable record in the generation of Intellectual Property Rights combined with a successful company formation history. With over 80 patents in the field of polymer chemistry his achievements are many and notable. Among his many achievements he was responsible for inventing the Prostaglandin E2 controlled release device which has now attained 85% penetration of the US market for cervical ripening for difficult labour expectations. His work on hydrogels and controlled drug delivery has already led to the establishment of two pharmaceutical companies in the UK, Controlled Therapeutics (Scotland) and The Core Group (now part of CeNeS Ltd).
 
Dr Roderick Bowers
Dr Roderick Bowers has created significant shareholder value in a variety of executive positions. As President of Science at Biocompatibles Eyecare he played a key role in securing investment for the business and in managing the transition from start-up to a UK listed FTSE 250 company. The interest of USA corporation CoopervIsion Inc ultimately saw Biocompatibles acquired for £68mn.
 
Dr Abdul Rashid
Dr Abdul Rashid provides unique practical hydrogel chemistry know-how to the company. He has numeous patents and has invented several drug delivery systems. He has particular experience in polymer synthesis. His current role sees him take responsibility for improving processes and product development.
 
Mr Wade Tipton
Mr Wade Tipton has over 10 years experience in the contact lens industry, and has successfully commercialised numerous contact lens products. As General Manager at Clearlab UK he led an aggressive lens manufacturing initiative to increase production output from 1mn lenses to 65mn lenses in just 12 months. And at VisionTec CL Ltd he developed a patented manufacturing process to produce low cost high quality lenses for the business.
 
Dr Caroline Stretton
Dr Caroline Stretton has 15 years experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries and provides product development, operations, regulatory and quality management expertise.
 
Dr James Browning
Dr James Browning is a former consultant (chief) physician and business unit head of both large and start-up medical device companies. His career has seen the successful development of 4 medical devices from concept to exit within 3 years combined with the personal development of 6 patented surgical technologies. There are many notable business achievements in his career to date including the successful set up of Gynecare UK Limited which saw rapid triple digit growth in the late 1990’s.
 
Mr Scott Carnegie
Mr Scott Carnegie is a chartered accountant and founding member of Dand Carnegie Accounting Solutions Limited. He is Chief Executive of Teasses Capital an Edinburgh based venture capital fund and was heavily involved in the creation of the Dundee based Discovery Investment Fund.
